Scouts BSA Troop 956/955 Service Projects

Troop 956/955 prides itself on giving back in many ways to the community.  Here are some of our recent service activities:

Veterans Memorial Cleanup

In partnership with our chartering organization, American Legion Post 150, scouts volunteer throughout the year to maintain the Veterans Memorial in Sterling, VA. 

Veterans Memorial Day Ceremony

Scouts assist with and  participate in the annual Memorial Day Service at the Veterans Memorial in Sterling, VA.

Eagle Scout Projects

Eagle Scout service projects improve our neighborhoods, schools, and parks.  Recent projects have included: food drives;  bench, birdhouse, trail, and kiosk construction at Claude Moore Park; and, a trail at River Bend Middle School.

Scouting for Food

Troop 956 participates in the annual BSA Scouting for Food program.  Scouts collect food throughout the neighborhoods and help to deliver the food to local food pantries.

Algonkian Parkway Adopt-a-Highway

Troop 956 helps to keep Algonkian Parkway clean through the Adopt-a-Highway program in the Coutryside and Cascades neighborhoods.
